World number twos knocked out of Premier Padel competition

Virginia Riera and Carmen Goenaga performed strongly in today's quarter-finals. The pair defeated world number twos Bea Gonzalez and Delfi Brea 7-5, 6-2.

The second Premier Padel tournament of the year in Italy is taking place this week. It is a P2 competition, which means that the winners receive 500 FIP points. In the afternoon, the quarter-final between Riera/Goenaga and Gonzalez/Brea was decided.

The first set was close, but at the end of the set Riera/Goenaga managed to win a break and took the first part of the match. In the second set, Riera/Goenaga showed their strength and won with the result 7-5, 6-2.

Tomorrow the pair will play in the semi-finals against Ortega/Araujo or Salazar/Virseda.
