Surprise in Italy - Cardona and Ruiz through to quarter-finals

Javi Ruiz and Pablo Cardona had an impressive performance yesterday when they defeated Fernando Belasteguín and Juan Tello.

This week the second Premier Padel tournament of the year is taking place in Italy, a P2 tournament that has attracted the world's elite. The second round of the competition took place yesterday, and it was there that Ruiz and Cardona showed their strength.

The pair beat Fernando Belasteguín and Juan Tello, but it was not an easy victory. The Argentines' strong start gave them the first set 6-1. Then Cardona and Ruiz started an impressive turnaround that resulted in them winning the next two sets 6-4 and 6-1.

Today, the pair will play Arturo Coello and Agustin Tapia in the quarter-finals.
