Two great pairs absent in the Genova P2

Yesterday, the draw for the Génova P2 took place, and the absence of two very competitive pairs is noticeable. These are Momo González and Álex Ruiz, finalists in the Bordeaux P2, and Lucas Campagnolo together with Javi Leal, a pair that reached the quarterfinals in the Italy Major.

The absence of Leal and Campagnolo is purely a sporting decision. As has happened in other P2 tournaments this season, some players have decided not to participate to rest and focus on the upcoming tournaments.

Campagnolo and Leal had a great week in Rome, reaching the quarterfinals and eliminating pairs like Tello and Bela. Although there was speculation about their absence in Génova due to physical reasons, they were seen yesterday training at 100% against Chingotto and Galán.

On the other hand, Momo González and Álex Ruiz are last-minute withdrawals. The reason is still unknown, although in this case, it could be due to physical discomfort. The players were registered but did not appear in the draw.

Let's remember that Ruiz had some physical issues at the beginning of the season that prevented him from playing in some tournaments.
