Ahead of the new season, Fernando Belasteguín announced that he would be teaming up with Lucho Capra. But the partnership did not go as the players had planned. After several tough tournaments, the pair went their separate ways. Now Bela tells what didn't work out.

There were many new couples on the world tour for the new season. One new couple was Fernando Belasteguín and Lucho Capra who announced that they would play with each other during the season.

However, the partnership did not go as the players had planned. After several tough tournaments where the couple fell in the early rounds, they decided to go their separate ways.

Now Bela tells the Spanish newspaper Marca why the partnership didn't work out:

- There were many different things. I have high expectations of myself and I didn't have a good pre-season, I didn't practice a lot of padel, I had a sore elbow. That and the physical adjustment that I needed to play on the left side weighed on me. I didn't perform, we played three tournaments and I did very badly.

He continues:

- Between that and the expectations he had of me. Ge also didn't get the version of me that he has shown in later tournaments. Although I am right-handed and he is left-handed, we had similar characteristics but the scores were very long, we barely finished and that's when I realised I had to switch to the right side.
