Marta Ortega: "I would like to return to number 1"

Marta Ortega gave an interview to Analistas Padel in which she talked about her goals for 2024, her projection for the coming years, and even dared to name the best young players of the moment.

Ortega has been sharing the project with Verónica Virseda for several tournaments now. The player from Madrid is clear about her objective: “Our goal is to stay within the top 4 pairs in the ranking. We are competing with Alejandra Salazar and Tamara Icardo. At some point, on a personal level, I would like to return to number 1.”

The former number 1 dared to highlight some young players she would hypothetically like to play with in the future: “I played with Alejandra Alonso in Miami, I think she will do spectacularly. Then, it’s true that they are not so young, but I still think that Tamara Icardo and Bea González have a lot of talent.”

Finally, Ortega referred to Marta Marrero, with whom she shared many years on the court: “I still maintain a close relationship. I recently met her baby. I know she is returning to the circuit, and I’m looking forward to it.”
