All you need to know about the Asunción P2: rankings, draws, prizes, and TV

ANNONS

Premier Padel arrives in Asunción to play its seventh tournament of the year. Here's everything you need to know about this event that will kick off three consecutive weeks in South America.

Points

The Asunción tournament is a P2 event, meaning the champions will earn 500 points for the ranking, which is tighter than ever. The finalists will get 300 points, semifinalists 180, and quarterfinalists 90.

P2 tournaments are the lowest-ranking events within Premier Padel, so they distribute fewer points.

Asunción

The event will take place at the SND Arena in Asunción, the venue where the World Padel Tour was organized in previous years. In 2023, Arturo Coello and Agustín Tapia defeated Martín Di Nenno and Franco Stupaczuk in the final of the WPT Paraguay Padel Open, while Gemma Triay and Alejandra Salazar did the same against Ari Sánchez and Paula Josemaría.

It will be the first time that padel visits Paraguay under the guidance of Premier Padel.

Top 4

The big news of this tournament will be the absence of Alejandra Salazar and Tamara Icardo due to the Madrid native's elbow discomfort. The beneficiaries are Marta Ortega and Vero Virseda, who move up to the fourth position.

In the men's category, Alejandro Galán and Federico Chingotto, champions in Brussels and Seville, overtake Paquito Navarro and Juan Lebrón and take second place.

1- Coello-Tapia
2- Galán-Chingotto
3- Navarro-Lebrón
4- Stupa-Di Nenno

1- Josemaría - Sánchez
2- González-Brea
3- Triay-Fernández
4- Virseda-Ortega

Draws

The anticipated Galán vs. Lebrón clash would have to wait until a hypothetical final. Chingotto-Galán will face Coello-Tapia in the semifinals, so the Seville semifinal could be repeated. Remember that in the women's draw, the top 4 pairs start in the round of 16.

Where to Watch - TV

The early rounds of the tournament can be watched on Premier Padel's YouTube channel. From the quarterfinals onwards, the Asunción P2 will be exclusively available on Red Bull TV, a free download application.

Prize Money

The Asunción P2 will distribute a total of €250,000 in prize money.
