The Professional Padel Association criticizes Premier Padel in a harsh statement

ANNONS

The PPA (Professional Padel Association) issued a statement expressing certain dissatisfaction regarding various sporting decisions made by Premier Padel in the recent tournaments organized by the circuit.

"We want to publicly communicate our disagreement and concern regarding various decisions related to the sports and competition  that have been occurring on a recurrent basis in the Premier Padel circuit this 2024 season," the statement indicates.

The PPA emphasizes, for example, the choice of the official ball that will be used in the Andalucía P2 next week, which is not commercially available and prevents players from training with it: "for the second time this season those responsible for the sports circuit have selected a game ball that is not currently available to the players themselves to be able to train properly with it, as well as properly prepare their competition."

Furthermore, they claim that this decision was made just three days before the start of the tournament, with no room for athletes to adjust accordingly.

The PPA points out that these types of situations "clearly reflect a lack of scheduling, thoroughness and communication on the part of the Tour that should not be overlooked, as we are dealing with competition-related issues that are of key importance to the sporting interests of the players."

The tournament they refer to is the one in Seville, which begins today with the preliminary rounds at La Cartuja Stadium. Premier Padel, for the moment, has not responded to the official statement.
