ANNONS

The Pro Padel League enjoyed its first two weeks of the regular season in Miami. After clinching the title in the second weekend, the Los Angeles Beat lead the standings in the race towards the PPL Cup Finals.

The PPL is the first professional padel circuit in the United States, aiming to develop the sport nationally. The schedule features 4 regular season events and the PPL Cup Finals, where only the top 8 teams will participate.

Miami Padel Club claimed the title in the first tournament of the year with the duo of Ari Sánchez and Agustín Tapia. However, the two number ones were absent during the second week, and the team's performance wasn't the same.

The Los Angeles Beat managed to win the tournament during the second week. Tolito Aguirre and Javi Leal formed a great men's pair, while Jess Castelló and Eli Amatriain fought together in the women's category. In the mixed doubles, a distinctive feature of the PPL, Castelló and Tolito were unstoppable.

It's important to note that the PPL consists of 10 teams divided into two groups of 5 during the four regular season events. The franchises play round-robin matches from Tuesday to Friday, and the top two teams qualify for the semifinals.

Each regular season event awards points based on the team's position. Here's the updated table after these two weeks in Miami:

  2. Miami Padel Club: 1,150 pts.
