BREAKING: Galán speaks out on scandal and Lebrón breakup
Alejandro Galán spoke publicly after the decision to split with Juan Lebrón. The former world number 1 described how the days following the scandal in Doha unfolded and the reasons that led him to seek a new project.
In an interview with El Partidazo, Galán confirmed that upon returning from Qatar, something had changed: "I left Qatar very sad and with bad feelings. When we arrived in Spain, after training, I didn't feel comfortable. I had been pondering it. It was a feeling I had and had been recurring. I needed new challenges. In the afternoon, I had made the decision."
When asked about Lebrón's reaction to his decision, Galán said: "It caught him by surprise. Neither of us likes to change partners at the beginning of the season. But I felt that way and I was very clear about it. It was best not to continue and to seek new projects."
Furthermore, the Madrid native added: "I didn't want another situation to arise on the court where I felt uncomfortable, and that was the trigger."
On the other hand, Galán ensured that he will only hold onto the good memories of a partnership that made history in the sport: "We want to remember all the good times and everything we achieved in padel. We've built a great family. We've shared a lot together. We will try to say goodbye in the best way possible, hopefully by winning."
Let's remember that Galán and Lebrón were already signed up for the tournament in Mexico. It will be the farewell of a partnership that dominated the world of paddle tennis for the last 4 years.
