Chingotto and Tello reunited - here are the teams in the Miami tournament
The Reserve Cup started yesterday where 14 of the world's best players compete in a team format. The teams for the competition are now official.
The tournament's proposed format consists of two teams of 7 players. Jimmy Butler will be the captain of one team, while the legend of the New York Yankees, Derek Jeter, will take the lead of the other.
The major innovation of the Reserve Cup is that captains will have the option to make one substitution per day. A player can replace another from their team in the middle of a match. It will be the first time that fans see something like this in sports.
Finally, the matches on the first day will be worth one point, those on the second day two points, and those on the third day three points. The team with the most points will claim the first edition of the Reserve Cup.
The teams
Team Miami: Franco Stupaczuk, Martín Di Nenno, Federico Chingotto, Álex Ruíz, Maxi Sánchez, Juan Tello, and Momo González.
Team Reserve: Alejandro Galán, Juan Lebrón, Jon Sanz, Coki Nieto, Javi Garrido, Mike Yanguas, and Zalo Rubio.
First day
The first day of the exclusive padel tournament organized in Miami by Jimmy Butler had to be suspended due to rain when the second match of the day was being played.
Lebrón and Garrido defeated Tello and Chingotto (3/6 7/5 10/5) in the opening match of the Reserve Cup, thus securing the first point for Team Reserve.
The organization has already announced that everything will resume today with the pending matches from the first day and those from the second.
