Marta Ortega and Gemma Triay have decided to go their separate ways less than a month before the start of the season. The players will compete together for the last time in the P1 event in Riyadh.

As reported by Relevo, two of the major superstars in women's padel will take different paths. Both are already registered as a pair in the Saudi tournament that kicks off the Premier Padel season, so they will have to wait until it concludes to embark on their new projects.

The main reasons behind this separation are the poor results towards the end of 2023 and a personal relationship that, apparently, had become tense.

All signs point to Gemma Triay teaming up with Claudia Fernández, who is only 17 years old. Fernández recently captivated the world with her talent during the Hexagon Cup, where she shared the court with Bea González.

Although Claudia Fernández had previously announced Lorena Rufo as her partner for 2024, the opportunity to play alongside Gemma Triay is too tempting to refuse.

There are still no clues about who will be Martita Ortega's new partner. The chessboard is stirring just weeks before the start of Premier Padel, and this breakup could set off a domino effect of separations that no one had anticipated.
