Confirmed: Valladolid to host FIP competition

ANNONS

A month ago, Premier Padel released the calendar for the 2024 season. It shows that there will be no competition at Plaza Mayor in Valladolid.
Now FIP has announced that there will be a FIP Platinum competition at the famous venue instead.

The Premier Padel schedule for 2024 was published in December.

A total of 25 venues have been selected in 18 different countries. New venues such as Riyadh, Geneva, Bordeaux and Kuwait will be new locations. Spain gets a total of four competitions, two of these in Andalusia where Malaga and Seville are well placed to get the competitions, one in Madrid and then the Master Final in Barcelona. This means that there will be no Premier Padel competition in Valladolid.

Valladolid has been a classic venue for WPT competitions in recent years with its spectacular surroundings. But now there will be no Premier Padel tournament in Arturo Coello's hometown.

Luigi Carraro: "Special day"

Instead, the city will host a FIP Platinum in June. This was announced today by the International Padel Federation.

"For me, today is a special day, because it reminds me of the first steps of my presidency, when padel was very well known in Spain and less so in the rest of the world. Back then, when I was asked what padel was, I used to show pictures and videos of Plaza Mayor to make people understand how padel is an extraordinary sport and unique in the world for the possibility of organising events in incredible locations like this", said FIP President Luigi Carraro in a press release.

FIP Platinum is the competition category under Premier Padel where champions receive 200 FIP points.
