Galan and Lebron's coach after the decision: ”They won't find a better solution”
In recent weeks, there has been a lot of speculation about Galan and Lebron splitting up. But earlier this week it was announced that the pair will continue in 2024.
Now coach Jorge Martínez is speaking out about the decision.
Juan Lebron and Ale Galan will continue to play together next season. The players announced this on Monday on their social media. Now Jorge Martínez speaks out about the decision.
Jorge Martínez is the director of the M3 Academy and has been an important part of Galan and Lebron's development this year. He was given even more responsibility when the couple's coach, Mariano Amat, left.
Juan Lebron and Alejandro Galan did not have an easy season. Both players suffered injuries and lost the top spot in the World Padel Tour to Agustín Tapia and Arturo Coello. But since August, the pair have been back at the top of their game, winning five titles.
— I think it has been a very commendable process, also for Galán, who has had to change and adapt his game for his partner. Also, from the coaching staff who insisted and made Juan realise that he had to play differently," Jorge Martínez tells Mundo Deportivo.
He continues:
— They feel empowered, they realise they are capable and that is one of the challenges they have set for themselves for next season. To be competitive by playing in a different way.
Coach: ”We have our opinion on the situation”
In recent weeks, there has been much speculation about Galan and Lebron splitting up. Jorge Martínez believes that the best thing for them is to stay together as a couple.
— We have our opinion on the matter, and we let them know. We have always been in favour of the couple continuing, that they had to fight to overcome the difficulties they had and that we understood that the best thing for them on a professional level was to stay together.
He continues:
— From my point of view, they will not find a better solution. Together they are stronger than each of them with another player separately. It was the best thing to do. The second half of the year made them grow. From then on, they have gone through a process, they have had to mature their decision, and they have seen that they can play and live together in a good way.
