Unbelievable success in their last match — won the Master Final

ANNONS

Paquito Navarro and Federico Chingotto won their first title in their last match together.

Paquito Navarro and Federico Chingotto began their partnership in April and had, at best, made it to the final a number of times before the Master's Final. This meant that for the first time in ten years, Paquito was heading for a non-title season.

The couple announced before the competition that they would go their separate ways after the Master's Final. This meant that Paquito and Chingotto had one last chance to win a title together. But in order to do so, it required a huge achievement.

Paquito Navarro and Federico Chingotto performed brilliantly yesterday, defeating world number ones Agustín Tapia and Arturo Coello in the semi-final.

Won first title

Today the final was against Ale Galan and Juan Lebron. A tough challenge against a pair who have won five out of eight titles since the summer break.

But Paquito and Chingotto would manage to achieve their dream.

The pair were brilliant in the first set, losing only one game. The second set was more even on the scoreboard. Navarro/Chingotto started the set by winning the break, but Galan/Lebron levelled the score at 4-4.

But Paquito Navarro and Federico Chingotto took back the lead in the next game and were able to win the title.

The result was 6-1, 6-4.

This means that Paquito Navarro will not miss out on a title this year. The win also means that Chingotto wins his second career title.

May have played last match together

A couple who had a tough time on the court today was Ale Galan and Juan Lebron who may have played their last match together.

Last week, Padel Alto could report details that indicate that the couple has already decided to go their separate ways. It remains to be seen.

Today's final was the last WPT match in history.
