Surprise in the Master Final — Osoro and Castello through to the final

Aranzazu Osoro and Jessica Castello are through to the final of the Master Final. 
This after a victory over world number twos Gemma Triay and Marta Ortega.

The World Padel Tour has, for the last time, landed in Barcelona to bring the padel at the highest level to the city. This week, the World Padel Tour's Masterfinal will take place. It is the last WPT competition in history. The top 16 players with the most ranking points from 2023 have earned a spot in the tournament.

The second women's semi-final of the day took place in the evening. World number two Gemma Triay and Marta Ortega played against Aranzazu Osoro and Jessica Castello.

Triay and Ortega started the match incredibly well, winning game after game. This resulted in a 6-1 set win. But Osoro and Castello made an impressive comeback and won the second set 6-2.  

A third set decided the semi-final in Barcelona. The world number two started the third set strongly and took a 3-1 lead. But Osoro and Castello levelled the score and then took the lead themselves.

Aranzazu Osoro and Jessica Castello won the match 1-6, 6-2, 6-4.

Tomorrow, they will play the final against Delfi Breaa and Bea Gonzalez.
