Coello and Tapia secured first place in the ranking: "I will never forget this"

Agustin Tapia and Arturo Coello have had a successful season to say the least. The pair has been unstoppable for much of the year, winning 15 titles. The duo also secured first place in the rankings last Saturday.

Agustín Tapia and Arturo Coello, have won eleven WPT tournaments and four Premier Padel tournaments this season. Last Saturday, the team defeated Alejandro Arroyo and Eduardo Alonso in the semi-finals to secure the top spot in the rankings.

— I am speechless, the truth is that I was quite nervous today. I don't really know what to say, but above all I want to thank the Mexican crowd for their support this week. It has been an intense week, especially emotionally. We knew that if we made it to the final of this tournament, mathematically we would be number one, Coello told the crowd after the win.

He continues:

— There are many things that I think about, but most of all I want to thank my parents for all the efforts they have made. My family has always supported me and has always been there. Agu's (Agustin) family has also made an incredible effort this year. Both families have done their best and have welcomed us both home to make a good pre-season and give us our best conditions.

Coello also said after the match that it was difficult to play against his best friend in the semi-finals. The pair beat Alejandro Arroyo and Eduardo Alonso 6-2, 6-4.

— Today is something very special for me. I think I will never forget this in my life and I want to keep this memory forever.

He continues:

— It is also a very special day because I can achieve this result with one of my best friends, Edu, who is like my brother.
It was very difficult to play against him today because of the simple fact that I like him very much. He is a very good person.

Last night, Agustin Tapia and Arturo Coello secured another title. The duo beat Tino Libaak and Leo Augsburger in the final.
