Surprises in Mexico - here are today's semi-finals

ANNONS

It's been one surprise after another at the WPT Mexico.
It's time for the semi-finals.

This week sees the last World Padel Tour event before the Master Final. At least the last competition with the Damms concept. Premier Padel will take over the world tour next year after the takeover was announced in August.

The competition has been special, to say the least, with several big surprises. It started with Galan/Lebron and Josemaria/Sanchez missing the competition. Then both Triay/Ortega and Navarro/Chingotto had to leave the tournament in the round of 16.

Yesterday's quarter-finals also contained some minor upsets.

Alejandro Arroyo and Eduardo Alonso defeated Momo Gonzalez and Javi Garrido in straight sets. Tino Libaak and Leo Augsburger secured a semi-final place after a three-setter against Lucas Bergamini and Víctor Ruiz.

Verónica Virseda and Claudia Jensen beat Alejandra Salazar and Sofía Araújo 6-4 in the deciding set to secure their first semi-final in months.

Today the semi-finals will be played in Mexico:

Jimena Velasco and Noa Cánovas against Tamara Icardo and Virginia Riera.

Agustín Tapia and Arturo Coello against Alejandro Arroyo and Eduardo Alonso.

Verónica Virseda and Claudia Jensen against Beatriz González and Delfina Brea

Tino Libaak and Leo Augsburger against Franco Stupaczuk and Martín Di Nenno
