New surprise in Mexico - world number twos eliminated

The surprises continue in the last WPT competition before the Master Final. In the Round of 16, Gemma Triay and Marta Ortega had to leave the tournament.

Claudia Fernández and Victoria Iglesias were very successful yesterday, defeating world number two Gemma Triay and Marta Ortega in the Round of 16.

The result was 7-5, 1-6, 6-4 in favour of Fernández and Iglesias.

Today, the pair will play in the quarter-finals against Jimena Velasco and Noa Cánovas, who have also achieved great success and qualified for Friday's match.
