Won in Mexico - secured a place in the Master Final
Yesterday, Veronica Virseda won the first match in Mexico and secured a place in the Master Final.
In the last World Padel Tour event before the Master Final, it was clear that Veronica Virseda needed to go further in the tournament than the Alayeto twins to secure a ticket to the Master Final.
Mapi and Majo Alayeto lost in the first round to Jimena Velasco and Noa Cánovas 6-7, 4-6. This meant that Virseda had the chance to qualify for the prestigious competition.
Veronica Virseda and Claudia Jensen played Teresa Navarro and Marta Caparrós in the important match yesterday. Virseda and Jensen won the match 6-2, 6-2.
This means that Veronica Virseda is through to the Masters final in December. A special situation has also occurred as the twins have the same number of points but only get one place in the competition. Lucia Sainz, who also has no partner, may have to choose between the twins.
It is worth noting that if Patty Llaguno were to reach the final in Mexico, she would also secure a ticket to the Master Final.
