Here are the first winners of the New York Grand Master
Last week, the New York Grand Master A1 tournament took place. Tolito Aguirre and Adrian Allemandi went all the way and won the prestigious competition.
The A1 Tour took padel to New York last week for the first Grand Master of the year. It was the first time in history that the competition took place. A1 Padel has not made a secret of its focus on the American market, and the New York Yankees now own part of the A1 tour.
It was a step forward for the tour, which brought together its best players to show off the sport in New York.
Maxi Arce and Franco Dal Bianco, the favorites to win the tournament, were the season's giants on the A1 Tour. The pair had won eight tournaments going into the event.
But in the end, Tolito Aguirre and Adrian Allemandi won after defeating the favorites. The pair secured their first title of the year.
The final was a close battle, resulting in 7-6, 7-5.
The tour will return to the US in November for the Miami tournament.
