Eli Amatriain is putting an end to her professional career. Her last tournament will be the World Padel Tour in Menorca.

39-year-old Eli Amatriain will soon be playing her last tournament as a professional padel player when the World Padel Tour in Menorca takes place at the end of October. This means that another star who has helped build the sport is hanging up her racket.

"I have always said that it would be my body and my mind that would mark the end of my career and it is something I have had in mind for a long time. That's why I have made the decision that Menorca will be the last tournament I play in because I want to do it in my country, I want to say goodbye surrounded by my people," Amatriain said on Instagram.

"I will always be grateful for this"

The former world number one, who spent part of her career leading the world ranking and being an important part of the Spanish national team, says she is grateful for her time on the court.

"The truth is that I consider myself a privileged person, I have had the opportunity to make a living from something I have loved for many years and I will always be grateful for this"

A new chapter awaits Eli Amatriain who tells that she will work in sports psychology:

"I will focus my life on the part of psychology and also sports psychology that brings me so much joy. I hope that I can continue to be connected to the padel world and that we continue to see each other on the courts", says Eli Amatriain.
