The super-talent on combining studies with elite training ”Last year I missed two to three months”
David Gala is only 17 years old but has already qualified several times for the WPT main round. In an interview with Padeladdict, the talent talks about combining his studies with professional life.
David Gala has made a great effort in his career this season. He has managed to qualify for the main round of the WPT several times and got to represent Spain at the European Games this summer.
The talent tells Padeladdict that he has a dream of becoming world number one and knows that it takes a strenuous effort to one day achieve it:
— Train more, especially the physics. I still have a child's body; the others are already developed. It's very noticeable, but I will try to compensate for that lack by training as much as possible.
David Gala combines studies with professional life, which can be seen as a big challenge:
— I'm lucky that I'm good at learning quickly, but it isn't easy for people my age who also play and are not so good at it. You travel a lot and miss lessons most days.
He continues:
— I have changed and now do everything online because if I did it on-site, I would miss a lot of lessons. Last year, I missed two to three months, and trying to pass anything is tough. So, first, I will try to do it online and see how it goes. I hope it goes well.
