Juan Lebron moved after his debut in Madrid: "I won't give up"

Following his debut match in the Madrid P1, Juan Lebrón spoke in the post-match interview about the rough patch he's currently facing due to the physical discomfort he's endured this season.

The year 2023 hasn't started off on the right foot for Juan Lebrón. The Spanish player has suffered injuries that have hindered his physical performance, keeping him away from the courts for nearly two full months.

After recovering from the epicondylitis in his right arm, the "Lobo" seems to be gradually regaining his form, the same form that allowed him to dominate the world rankings for four consecutive years, a position he has now lost to Tapia and Coello.

Emotional Lebrón

After his debut in the Madrid P1 of the Premier Padel circuit, where he and his partner, Ale Galán, triumphed in a thrilling three-set match against Martínez/Ruiz, the player from Cádiz opened up like never before during the post-match interview conducted by Bárbara Vitantonio.

"I must admit, I'm not going through my best moment, and it's been really tough for me. It's truly been very difficult," said Lebrón with tears in his eyes, while the Madrid crowd applauded him.

And he continued:

"Right now, I'm going through a rough patch, and we must accept it, keep training and pushing forward without losing heart. Strength and humility are among my core values, and those who know me are aware of it, even if it's not always evident."

"I won't give up"

The interview continued with Lebrón opening his heart in response to the Argentine journalist's question about whether his difficult time was due to emotional or physical issues.

"It's a bit of both. It's been a whirlwind of emotions for three months where we couldn't find an answer to what was wrong (referring to the injury). But let me tell you, I won't give up, not by a long shot, because I love challenges, I love training, and I will keep striving to regain my form," emotionally concluded the Spanish player.
