ANNONS

Arturo Coello and Agustín Tapia clinched their first title as a pair on the Premier Padel circuit, after defeating Chingotto and Navarro in a closely contested final.

The Premier Padel Italy Major's men's final featured the two best pairs of the tournament.

On one side, Paquito Navarro and Federico Chingotto, who entered the match in great shape, having not dropped a single set throughout the tournament. Facing them was the most in-form duo of the season, Agustín Tapia and Arturo Coello, who were aiming for their first title on the Premier Padel circuit.

The match started off evenly, with both pairs trying unsuccessfully to take control of the game. A packed Foro Itálico crowd cheered on every point, while games unfolded without either team gaining an advantage. But just when it seemed like the first set would be decided in a tie-break, Tapia and Coello secured the crucial break that earned them the set, winning 7-5.

First Premier Padel title for the pair

Navarro and Chingotto couldn't have started the second set any better. With an inspired Paquito, the duo came out determined to stage a comeback, and quickly secured a break to take the lead on the scoreboard.

However, in the eighth game, Tapia and Coello mounted a comeback, recovering the deficit and taking the match to a tie-break, where they convincingly prevailed. The final score was 7-5, 7-6 in favor of the Coello/Tapia pair, who secured their first Premier Padel title.

Premier Padel action will continue next week as the circuit visits Madrid to celebrate the first P1 category tournament of the season.
