ANNONS

Fernando Belasteguin and Miguel Yanguas had a great performance in Rome. The pairing defeated top seeds Ale Galan and Juan Lebron in two straight sets.

Last year's champions, Galan and Lebron, will not lift the trophy at this year's Major Premier Padel in Italy.

Juan Lebron returned to the court after a seven-week absence and entered Rome as top seeded alongside his partner Alejandro Galan. On Friday afternoon, Fernando Belasteguin and Miguel Yanguas awaited in the quarterfinals.

Belasteguín and Yanguas started the first set strongly winning the break and taking the lead. The pairing showed a skilful game with great precision in the long duels. While Galan and Lebron had a tough time and unforced errors characterised the game.

Belasteguín and Yanguas won the first set 6-1 after 44 minutes of play.

Ready for the semi-final

In the second set, not only the duels were evenly matched, but also the result. Both pairings were initially strong in their service games. Belasteguin and Yanguas continued with their steady play and broke to take a 4-2 lead.

Belasteguín and Yanguas were the better pair and eventually won the match with a score of 6-1, 6-3.

Today, in the semifinals, they will face Paquito Navarro and Federico Chingotto, who took a convincing 6/0 6/1 win over Del Castillo and Benitez.
