High temperatures set the stage for the Premier Padel Italy Major
The Premier Padel Italy Major has kicked off amidst challenging weather conditions, with medical teams on high alert to provide immediate assistance in case of heat-related emergencies.
This Monday marked the beginning of one of the most highly anticipated tournaments of the season, the Italy Major of the Premier Padel circuit. However, once again, weather conditions have played a significant role in shaping the course of an outdoor tournament.
On this occasion, the soaring temperatures recorded in the Italian capital have forced the tournament organizers to modify schedules and activate the "Extreme Temperatures" protocol. As a result, the order of play for matches held at the Foro Itálico in Rome has been restructured.
Matches have been moved up to 9:00 AM, allowing players to compete in the early hours of the day when the heat is not as oppressive. Following a break around 1:00 PM, the afternoon session resumes at 4:00 PM on all courts. This measure aims to safeguard the players' health and mitigate potential risks associated with high temperatures.
The challenge extends beyond the realm of sports competition and includes endurance against the heat. Weather forecasts indicate that the extreme conditions will persist throughout the week, with temperatures potentially reaching 40 degrees Celsius.
