Former Atlético Madrid footballer Juanfran Torres and Brazilian player Lucas Campagnolo spoke with Padel Alto about the upcoming charity event to be held at the Cívitas Metropolitano stadium in September.

Atletico Madrid icon Juanfran Torres will once again play at the Atlético Madrid stadium, but this time with a racquet in his hand. The former Spanish player has joined forces with the Atlético Madrid Foundation and Brazilian padel star Lucas Campagnolo in a solidarity initiative.

Padel Alto spoke with the protagonists to learn more about what will be the first padel event held inside a football stadium, called 'Play2Help'.

"It's unimaginable"

Lucas Campagnolo is currently recovering from an injury that kept him out of the WPT Valencia Open, but the player remains optimistic and expects to return to the courts at the Premier Padel Major in Italy. "I'll be back on the courts in Rome," says Campa to Padel Alto.

In the meantime, the Brazilian is taking the opportunity to join this great initiative against childhood cancer, a spectacular event that combines padel and football, aiming to break all attendance records for this racquet sport at the Cívitas Metropolitano stadium.

P.A: What does it mean to you to have padel present in a football stadium like the Metropolitano?

- It was unimaginable for me a few years ago, especially within the Atlético stadium, the team I support here in Spain. It remains pending for me to play at the Arena de Gremio stadium, my beloved team.

"A Padel Celebration"

On Saturday, September 9, the Cívitas Metropolitano stadium will be dressed up to celebrate a new edition of 'Play2Help,' a groundbreaking event.

The Atlético Madrid Foundation and Juanfran Torres, an icon of the team, are at the forefront of this great solidarity initiative. The former Spanish footballer discussed the event with Padel Alto.

P.A: What is the initiative about and how did it come about?

- It's a solidarity initiative in the fight against childhood cancer, with the intention of raising the maximum amount of funds for research. Hand in hand with the Atlético Madrid Foundation, we will organize the first padel event inside a football stadium.

P.A: Can you reveal the names of the personalities who will attend the tournament?

- It will be a tournament involving players, former footballers, influencers, celebrities, and more. We cannot disclose the participants' identities yet, as they are still finalizing their confirmations. It will be a padel celebration to bring this sport closer to all audiences.

'Play2Help' will take place on Saturday, September 9, at the Cívitas Metropolitano stadium. The proceeds from this padel celebration will be dedicated to the fight against childhood cancer, in collaboration with the foundations 'Médula para Mateo' and 'El sueño de Vicky.'
