Surprise in Valencia: Valladolid Master champions fall in their debut

ANNONS

Julieta Bidahorria and Claudia Fernández caused the upset of the day at the World Padel Tour Valencia Open, defeating Gonzalez and Brea in straight sets in the round of 16.

The reigning champions of the Valladolid Master, Bea Gonzalez and Delfina Brea, did not have the expected start in Valencia.

The current number three pair in the World Padel Tour ranking stumbled in their debut against the Spanish-Argentine duo formed by Julieta Bidahorria and the talented 17-year-old Claudia Fernández.

Brea and Gonzalez were caught off guard by their opponents, who dictated the pace of the game, ultimately taking the match in two sets, 6/3 7/6.

This elimination in the round of 16 is the first setback for Brea and Gonzalez since they joined forces at the Open de Granada in mid-April. The pair had achieved great results in these two and a half months, with two titles and two runner-up finishes to their name.

On the other hand, Bidahorria and Fernandez reach the quarterfinals of an Open 1000 tournament for the second time this season, where they will face the winners of the match between Sainz/Osoro and Stellato/Sussarello.
