Jon Sanz and Alejandro Galán play their last tournament together at the Valencia Open
With Juan Lebrón's return just around the corner, Jon Sanz and Alejandro Galán will have their "last dance" at the World Padel Tour Valencia Open.
It has been four tournaments since Jon Sanz decided to accept the challenge of playing with a world number one and said yes to Alejandro Galan's proposal.
The World Padel Tour Master in Marbella marked the beginning of this "circumstantial" partnership when Alejandro Galán called on the Navarrese player to replace the injured Juan Lebron. Sanz knew it would only be a few tournaments until "El Lobo" returned, but in the player's own words, it was "an opportunity he couldn't pass up."
Lebrón's recovery from epicondylitis seems to be progressing well, and the player from Cádiz has announced his return to the courts. The news of the long-awaited comeback of the Lebrón/Galán duo, starting from the Premier Padel Major in Rome from July 18th to 24th, marks the end of the partnership between the Madrid native and Jon Sanz.
While Galán reunites with Juan Lebrón to try to reclaim the top spot in the world rankings, Jon Sanz will resume his interrupted project with Coki Nieto.
The four tournaments of Galán/Sanz
The 22-year-old has managed to reach the quarterfinals alongside Alejandro Galán at the Master of Marbella, the semifinals at the Open of France, and once again, the semifinals at the recent Master of Valladolid, where they fell in three sets against the champions, Stupaczuk and Di Nenno.
The Galán/Sanz pair will begin their "last dance" this Tuesday when they face Huete and Marques in the third match of the afternoon at the round of 32 of World Padel Tour Valencia Open.
