World Padel Tour urges ladies not to participate in Premier Padel
The Setpoint Events-owned circuit has sent a letter to all female players registered for the Premier Padel Major in Italy, stating that it does not authorise them to participate in the event.
When everything seemed to calm down between the Premier Padel and World Padel Tour circuits, a new and unexpected chapter has been added to the battle for the control of world padel.
According to the Spanish media Relevo, World Padel Tour sent a letter to the players, "inviting them" not to play the Major tournament in Italy organised by Premier Padel and FIP, which will take place from the 10th to the 16th of July in the ‘Foro Italico’ in Rome.
As was the case last season with the men, the Setpoint Events owned circuit warns the players that participation in the event would be a breach of contract and could have significant legal consequences.
This "hitch" is a step back in the negotiations between circuits, which were expected to come to fruition. In the coming weeks we will know if the girls will finally have their long awaited debut in Premier Padel.
