Alejandro Lasaigues appointed director of Premier Padel Mendoza P1

World padel legend Alejandro Lasaigues has been named director of the Premier Padel Mendoza P1 tournament on the Premier Padel circuit.

Considered by many as one of the greatest players in the history of this sport, Alejandro Lasaigues assumes the position of director to lead the Premier Padel tournament in the city of Mendoza, organized by the Argentine Padel Association.

The Legend

After starting his career in the Argentine circuit in 1987, Lasaigues forged an impressive sporting career. Alongside Álvarez Clementi, he held the number one position for four years until 1991, before partnering with Roby Gattiker.

Gattiker and Lasaigues became one of the best duos in padel history. For five consecutive years, they held the number one spot in the world rankings without losing a single match. Their dominance on the courts made them an undeniable reference for padel enthusiasts around the world.

Although he retired from professional play in 2000, Lasaigues' legacy remains relevant in the world of padel. He currently serves as a sports advisor for the Argentine Padel Association, bringing his vast experience and knowledge to contribute to the development and promotion of the sport in his country.

Premier Padel Mendoza P1

The Mendoza Premier Padel will take place from July 31st to August 6th, 2023, at the Aconcagua Arena, and will be the fourth stop on the circuit following tournaments in Qatar, Rome, and Madrid. The competition will award 1000 points for the FIP ranking and distribute a total of 300,000 euros in prize money.
