Augsburger and Chozas took the A1 title in Monte Carlo — won in tiebreak
The young couple Leo Augsburger and Alex Chozas won the Monte Carlos A1 Padel title. This after turning the final and winning in the decisive tiebreak.
Experienced Diego Ramos and Agustin Torre won the first set easily against Alex Chozas and Leo Augsburger. But the young Argentines were able to turn things around and won the title of the prestigious Monte Carlo tournament played right next to the casino.
The second set was easy and ended 6-2, while the third set was a real thriller. The match was settled with a couple of spectacular points in the tiebreak, and Leo Augsburger could counterattack the match point to 7-4.
The pair have played good padel during the week and knocked out A1 Padel's giants, Dal Bianco and Arce in Saturday's semi-finals.
Spanish victory in the women´s final
The women's final was played between Martinez/Guinart and Ribeiro/Arrellano, with Spaniards Martinez and Guinart winning in two straight sets 7-6, 6-3.
