Official: Argentine legend to have a new partner

Argentine player Juan Martin Diaz, former world number one, will be playing alongside young Spanish player Jairo Bautista. 

At 47 years old, the unstoppable Juan Martin Diaz will add a new partner to his successful career. 

The Argentine legend, who held the number one ranking in the world for 13 consecutive years alongside Fernando Belasteguín, will share the court with Jairo Bautista, currently ranked 62nd in the World Padel Tour.

The news was officially announced by Bautista himself through social media: "It's an honor to have one of the greatest as my partner. I'm sure there will be many joys to come!" said the 21-year-old Malaga native.

The Spanish-Argentine duo will make their debut at the French Open, to be held in Toulouse next week. 

Diaz concludes a six-month period with his compatriot Agustin Gomez Silingo, with whom he only managed to reach the round of 16 on two occasions as the best result of the season.
