Sanz and Nieto pressured the first seeds — had to be decided in three sets.
Coki Nieto and Jon Sanz put in a strong performance in the semi-final. The pair pressured first-seeded Tapia and Coello in a three-set match.
Coki Nieto and Jon Sanz, who are playing their first and last tournament together, have been impressive in Austria.
In the round of 16, they defeated Sanyo Gutiérrez and Momo Gonzalez, who reached the final last weekend. Yesterday they faced the duo of Miguel Yanguas and Fernando Belasteguín, whom they defeated in an exciting three-set match.
Today, they faced the undefeated pair of Arturo Coello and Agustín Tapia, chasing their eighth title together.
After an impressive performance in the first set, Sanz and Nieto won the first set 6-4. But the outstanding pair of Coello and Tapia stood for a remarkable comeback.
— They were incredible in the first set. We couldn't follow them. Arturo played well and helped me a lot today, and I hope to help more tomorrow, said Agustin Tapia after the match.
Back as world number ones
Tapia and Coello refused to give up their long streak, winning every game in the second set and eventually winning the match 4-6, 6-0, 6-2.
The win means that Arturo Coello and Agustín Tapia are back as world number one, as Galan and Lebron are not participating in this week's tournament. The pair have now taken 36 straight victories on the World Padel Tour.
The Vienna tournament will be the first and last tournament in that the duo of Nieto and Sanz compete, as Sanz will debut in Marbella alongside Alejandro Galan.
