The finalists of the Denmark Open, Momo González and Sanyo Gutiérrez, fell in three sets against the temporary pair, Jon Sanz and Coki Nieto.

The recently formed duo of Jon Sanz and Coki Nieto caused a major upset in the round of 16 of the World Padel Tour Vienna Open by defeating the recent finalists of the Denmark Open, Sanyo Gutiérrez and Momo González.

The Spanish pair took to the court with great determination and claimed the first set in under 30 minutes with an impressive 6/1 scoreline. Nieto and Sanz played at an overwhelming pace, leaving their opponents with no response as they quickly lost the opening set.

However, Sanyo and Momo did not give up and started the second set with a renewed attitude. The fourth-ranked pair in the world managed to level the match, winning the second set in a tight 7/5, forcing a decisive third set.

In the end, Nieto and Sanz broke their opponents' serve in the ninth game of the final set, securing their victory with a final score of 6/1, 5/7, 6/4.

This Friday, in the quarterfinals of the Austrian tournament, the Spaniards will face Fernando Belasteguín and Mike Yanguas.

Sanz and Nieto will only play together in the Vienna tournament, as Jon will team up with Madrid native Alejandro Galán starting from Marbella. Nieto, on the other hand, will share the court with the young talent Pablo Cardona.
