Bea Gonzalez and Delfi Brea knock out the world number ones

ANNONS

Delfina Brea and Bea Gonzalez have eliminated the world number one pairing at the World Padel Tour Danish Open to reach their first final of the season.

In a brilliant match, the number four seeds of the tournament, Delfina Brea and Bea Gonzalez, have won their ticket to the final of the Danish Open, after beating Ariana Sanchez and Paula Josemaria in two sets.

The world number ones started the match in dominant form, and without giving their opponents any options, they quickly took a 5-1 lead. But Brea and Gonzalez managed to react, pulling off an epic comeback, and after a 6-0 run, they took the first set 7/5.

In the second set the match was extremely level, but finally the Spanish-Argentine pair managed to get the advantage in the key moments, to close the match in the tie break.

"We all put in a lot of effort as a team to make sure we were prepared for this match. We started badly, but we know how to suffer together. I'm very happy," said Bea González after the match.

The result was 7/5 7/6, for Brea and Gonzalez to reach their first final of the season. There they will face the winner of the match between Triay/Salazar vs Icardo/Riera, looking to revalidate the title won by Bea Gonzalez in the previous edition of the tournament.

First final of the season without Ariana Sanchez and Paula Josemaria

The absence of the world number ones in tomorrow's match means that we will have an unprecedented final at the World Padel Tour Danish Open. This Sunday will be the first time this season that Paula Josemaria and Ariana Sanchez won't be fighting for the title.
