OFFICIAL: Coki Nieto and Pablo Lima announce their separation
The pair began their sporting project in January this year, but the former world number one's physical problems did not allow the team to gain pace on the court.
After only five months together, Coki Nieto and Pablo Lima have decided to go their separate ways. The lack of continuity meant that the number eight ranked pair did not achieve the expected results, so from the next tournaments, both will play with new partners.
After withdrawing from the Danish Open, Coki Nieto announced the breakup: "This is the end of our time as a couple. It's been difficult circumstances, and we haven't played as much as we would have liked, but that's how the sport is," the Spaniard wrote on his Instagram account.
Just four World Padel Tour tournaments
Nieto and Lima could only play four tournaments this season, as they were absent in La Rioja, Paraguay, and Denmark and withdrew in the round of 16 of the last Vigo Open because of Lima's injury.
The Brazilian has decided to skip the Vienna Open due to physical discomfort, while Nieto will play with his new partner, Jon Sanz, as the number ten pair.
