After the final of the WPT Vigo Open, Juan Lebron and Alejandro Galan congratulated Agustin Tapia and Arturo Coello for becoming the new leaders of the world ranking.

After three years as the number one pairing in the world, Alejandro Galan and Juan Lebron lost their crown. The Spaniards lost their place in the ranking to Agustín Tapia and Arturo Coello, after losing the final of the World Padel Tour Vigo Open in an epic match.

The new kings of the world padel scene put together a historic run of seven consecutive titles - with 32 wins in a row - to become the youngest world number ones in history.

Once the match was over, Galan did not hesitate to congratulate the new ranking leaders: "Bravo Agustin and Arturo for the level of today and all year! Congratulations also for becoming WPT N1", wrote the player from Madrid on his social networks.

Lebron, for his part, did not want to miss the opportunity to congratulate Tapia and Coello for "the well-deserved N1" and said he was proud of the work done after several weeks away from the courts due to injury.

"A big challenge ahead"

The pairing are already focused on the upcoming WPT Copenhagen Open in Denmark, with their sights set on regaining their place at the top of the rankings. Lebron remarked that the couple has a "big challenge ahead" and that they will keep working to get back to their best level.

“We have to take all the positive things. Improve, meet again with our game and above all to continue enjoying as I have done this tournament. Heads up, we are already focused on Copenhagen”, wrote Alejandro Galán on his Instagram account.

The Spaniards will make their debut in the Danish tournament on Wednesday 17 May against the local pairing Moller/Domela.
