The Premier Padel Madrid P1 was officially launched
Padel Alto was present at the official launch of the Madrid Premier Padel P1 2023. The tournament will count for the first time with women's participation.
The second edition of the Madrid Premier Padel P1, which will take place from 17 to 23 July at the Madrid Arena, was officially presented on Wednesday.
The official ceremony was attended by Alberto Tomé, Deputy Minister of Sports of the Community of Madrid; Luigi Carraro, President of the International Padel Federation; Ziad Hammoud, member of the Board of Directors of Premier Padel; Joan Cuscó, President of Premier Padel Spain; and the professional player Patty Llaguno.
Carraro took the opportunity to thank everyone involved in the organization of the Madrid Premier Padel P1. The president of the International Padel Federation, expressed his satisfaction for the inclusion of women in Premier Padel, stating: “I’m happier than ever, because we finally have the women participating in the Premier Padel tournaments, something that we couldn't do just a year ago. Premier Padel is the circuit of male and female players, and national federations.”
Ladies present for the first time
Patty Llaguno was the first representative of the women's draw to be present at an official tour event.
“The players are looking forward to the tournament, and we are very excited and confident that the Madrid Premier Padel P1 will be a fantastic event - at all levels”, said the Spaniard.
Alberto Tomé, Vice-Minister of Sports of the Community of Madrid, highlighted: “The Community of Madrid will once again become the epicentre of padel. I want to thank all the partners who have made it possible for Madrid to host this competition”
The organisers expressed the desire to repeat the success of the tournament in the previous edition, with more than 30,000 spectators and more than 7.5 million television viewers, and hopes to exceed those figures this year, in order to promote padel and raise awareness of the city of Madrid worldwide.
