The legend withdraws from the Vigo tournament
Brazilian Pablo Lima will miss his round of 16 match due to injury.
Pablo Lima and Coki Nieto had a great performance last Tuesday in their debut match at the Vigo Open 1000. The pairing defeated Mendez and Martinez in three sets to reach the last sixteen.
But today, the Brazilian legend announced that he suffered a discomfort in his back, forcing him to withdraw from the tournament.
"I'm very sad to inform you that I won't be able to play the Round of 16 in Vigo. The reason is a back problem that I hope to solve as soon as possible," Lima wrote on his social networks.
The 36-year-old Brazilian, who will retire at the end of the season, has missed several tournaments this season due to various injuries that have sidelined him from competition.
Nieto and Lima were due to face the winner of the match between Garrido/Sanz and Sans/Zapata on Thursday, so the winner of that game will go straight through to the quarterfinals.
