ANNONS

The semifinals of the World Padel Tour Alicante Open have finished this Saturday, and we already know the four pairings that will compete for the title of champions of the second 500 category tournament of the season.

Women's draw

In the semifinals of the women's World Padel Tour Alicante Open 500, the pairing of Martita Ortega and Sofía Araújo managed to reach the final after beating Aranaza Osoro and Lucía Sainz. Although Osoro and Sainz started the match with an advantage, Ortega and Araújo managed to come back in great form, forcing a third set, in which they won. The result was 4/6 6/4 6/3, for Araujo and Ortega to get the pass to the big match this Sunday.

Tamara Icardo and Virginia Riera will await them in the final, after winning 6/0 and 7/6 against the very young Claudia Fernandez and her partner Julieta Bidahorria, in a very changing match, which evened out as the games went by until it ended in a breathtaking tie-break.

Men's draw

The first men's semifinal saw the tournament's breakthrough duo, Alonso and Esbrí, take on the number three seeds in the competition, Lucho Capra and Alex Arroyo. The young Spanish pair - who had just eliminated the number one pairing of the tournament - dominated Capra and Arroyo from the start of the match, always maintaining an offensive position on court and making very few errors, reflecting their superiority on the scoreboard with a resounding 6-3 and 6-2.

In the final, they will face the winners of the second semifinal of the day, the couple formed by Gonzalo Rubio and Javi Ruiz, who beat Jose Antonio Garcia Diestro and Pincho Fernandez in a very even match that was defined in the tie-break.

The women's final of the World Padel Tour Alicante Open 500 will start this Sunday at 10:00 am, followed by the men's final.
