First season of the PPL league to be held in one of the best venues in the USA

The first professional padel league in North America has a venue. The chosen facility is the SVB Tennis & Wellness Center on the coast of Florida.

The Pro Padel League (PPL), North America's premier professional padel league, has announced that it will hold its inaugural season in partnership with Florida's Sports Coast at the Sarah Vande Berg (SVB) Tennis & Wellness Center.

“The SVB Tennis & Wellness Center is not only one of the top facilities in Florida, but in the U.S. They are strong supporters of Padel and great operators to hold our inaugural PPL season at. We are looking forward to the season starting next month and the first serve being hit at their world-class facility”, said Marcos Del Pilar, PPL Commissioner.

From 13 May 2023, the regular season will run over five weekends with seven teams competing. The tournament will conclude with the championship weekend on 10-11 June 2023, where there will be a semi-final round followed by the top two teams competing in the final for the PPL CUP.

Throughout the first season, teams will consist of four active players, including two men and two women, and four substitutes, and will follow the international scoring format.

“We are overjoyed to welcome North America’s first-ever Professional Padel League to Florida’s Sports Coast for their inaugural season,” said Florida’s Sports Coast Tourism Director, Adam Thomas.

The first PPL Player Draft was held on 20 March 2023 and received approximately five hundred applications from top North American and international players from Australia, Asia, South America, the UK and Europe. From this selection, 84 of the best players will compete in the opening season.
