After the successful debut: Premier Padel in Madrid forced to change venue
Premier Padel in Madrid was a success last year in the WiZink Center.
But, this year, the organizer must change the venue as the dates clash with the Women's Youth Basketball World Cup.
Despite last year's successful debut, this year's Premier Padel P1 tournament in Madrid will not be played at the WiZink Center multi-arena in central Madrid. The dates of July 19 to 23 clash with the under-19 women's basketball World Cup.
Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo was the first to report the news. They report that the International Padel Federation, which is behind Premier Padel, will soon announce a new venue for the tournament.
Possible alternatives and venues that have previously organized major padel competitions are Madrid Arena in Casa de Campo, Caja Magica (where the World Padel Tour and Madrid Mutua Open are played), and Ifema.
Madrid will be the third stop of the Premier Padel season, the second tournament will be the Rome Major tournament in June.
