Momo Gonzalez and Mike Yanguas withstood the favorite pressure and won the Reus Open 500 in their first competition together.

The newly composed pair, Momo Gonzalez and Mike Yanguas, were the first seed of the Reus Open 500. By winning the final in two straight sets against Jose Diestro and Pincho Fernandez, they withstood the favorite pressure and won 6-3, 7-6.

Momo Gonzalez was recently vacated by Alex Ruiz, who moved on with Juan Tello. In interviews, he said that he wanted to continue with Ruiz and that Yanguas was not his first choice.

But the Malaga pair got off to a good start together with a title in Reus.

The match could have ended faster as Gonzalez and Yanguas also had a clear grip on match points in the second set. But Diestro and Fernandez, who have had good results this year, managed to get back into the match and everything had to be decided in a tiebreak.

The next competition is the Granada Open.
