Spanish player Anna Cortiles has announced her retirement from padel after seven years as a professional.
Despite being only twenty-six years old, the news of Anna Cortiles' retirement has stunned the padel world.
The player, currently ranked 51st in the world, has made the unexpected announcement through her social networks through an emotional video.
Although there's no specific reason for her decision, the Catalan player believes she's given it her all, and it's time to step aside.
"It's been a long time since I've been able to enjoy myself on the court and in competition. I feel that I've given everything I could as a professional player, I've given my all, and now it's time to look for other projects, " Anna told PadelSpain.
Cortiles has decided to retire in her home, Catalonia, so the World Padel Tour 500 tournament in Reus will be her last professional competition.
