In a very close match, Gemma Triay and Alejandra Salazar beat Paula Josemaría and Ariana Sánchez 7/6 7/6, after more than two and a half hours of play.

In the most repeated women's final in the history of the World Padel Tour - they faced each other 20 times - Gemma Triay and Alejandra Salazar took the final of the Paraguay Open against a combative Ariana Sanchez and Paula Josemaria in a breathtaking match.

Both pairings showed an outstanding level of play, but it was Triay and Salazar who managed to be more accurate at the key moments, taking the match in two sets, which were decided in a tiebreak.

"We showed a very good level, and it was a great game. It's been three very tough weeks, but all this has been possible thanks to the fantastic team we have. I hope this year will be a great year, just like the last one, " said Alejandra Salazar after the match.

After dropping the first tournament of the season, Triay and Salazar managed to put together a run of three consecutive tournaments to consolidate their position at the top of the world rankings.
