They will fight for the title at the Paraguay Open final

ANNONS

The pairings that will make up the finals of the last tournament of the WPT South American tour have been decided. This afternoon, the champions of the World Padel Tour Paraguay Open will be defined in two exciting matches.

The semi-finals of the Paraguay Open are now history, and the teams that will fight for the title at the Paraguay Open already know their opponents.

Women’s draw

In the second semi-final of the women's draw, Ariana Sánchez and Paula Josemaría won in two sets against a tough Brea and Araujo, who could do little to counteract the play of the Spaniards.

The match started better for the number one seeded couple of the tournament, who quickly took the lead after an exchange of breaks. Sanchez and Josemaria were sharp at the key moments, getting the golden points to take the first set 6-3.

In the second leg, the Spanish pairing got off to the best possible start, taking a 4-0 lead. The difference would prove to be irretrievable for Brea and Araujo, who had a lot of trouble holding their serve in the second set.

The final result was 6/3 6/2 for Sanchez and Josemaria to reach the final again after two tournaments of "drought". This Sunday they will face Gemma Triay and Alejandra Salazar in the most repeated women's final in history, from 16:00h (Local).

Men’s draw

Argentinians Franco Stupaczuk and Martin Di Nenno became the second finalists of the Paraguay Open, after winning a tight match against Javi Garrido and Federico Chingotto, 7/5 7/6.

Both pairings played a brilliant match, which ended up being defined by small details. In the first set, two mistakes by the pair Chingotto/Garrido meant the only break in favour of the "Super Pibes", which gave them the opportunity to take the lead on the scoreboard.

In the second set, Chingotto and Garrido came out determined to level things up. The Spanish-Argentine pairing broke their opponents' serve to take a 5-3 lead, giving Chingotto the chance to serve for the set. However, Di Nenno and Stupa found the reaction in time, turning the score around and taking the match to a tiebreak, where they managed to win with authority.

The "Super Pibes" will face Agustín Tapia and Arturo Coello in the final, trying to win their first World Padel Tour title of the season.
