Alex Ruiz has made official the break up with Momo Gonzalez. The Malagueños played today their last tournament together.

The news had hit the headlines a few days ago, but now Alex Ruiz has made it official: We will no longer see the Alex Ruiz/Momo Gonzalez pairing on the court.

The left-hander released an emotional statement on social media, confirming the news:

"Today is not a nice day... Momo and I have played our last tournament as a couple! Momo, I want to thank you for accepting the challenge to play with me 1 year ago. I knew you as a friend and now I have also known you as a partner and I have enjoyed a lot with this team. I'm in tears writing this and that's a sign that we have done and created something very special," posted Ruiz.

The World Padel Tour Paraguay Open has been their farewell tournament. The Spaniards lost today in the semifinals against Agustín Tapia and Arturo Coello.

"Thank you all for the support you have always given to this couple from Malaga. I hope you remember this couple with affection and recall every moment of happiness as these hugs," concluded the Spaniard.

Ruiz will play at the Granada Open alongside Argentine Juan Tello, while Momo Gonzalez will make his debut with his new partner, Mike Yanguas, at the Reus Open 500.
