CONFIRMED: The women´s to play Premier Padel — Al-Khelaifi: ”A great joy”

The women's players are participating in the upcoming Premier Padel Italy Major competition. 
Investor Nasser Al-Khelaifi confirms this to Spanish Marca. 

Earlier today, Padel Alto reported that the top players on the women's tour had signed an agreement with Premier Padel and will play in the next competition, the Italy Major. According to information from Spanish Mundo Deportivo, 94 of the top 100 players have signed the agreement with Premier Padel.

Marca now confirms the news. The businessman behind Qatar Sports Investment and the investor behind Premier Padel, Nasser Al-Khelaifi, confirmed the announcement during a speech at the Marca Sports Weekend in Malaga on Friday. 

"We are proud to announce that the girls will join the Premier Padel circuit, a great joy for us," he explained during the talk in Malaga.

The Italy Major, to be held in Rome from July 10 to 16, will be the first tournament in which Premier Padel will enjoy both males and females. 

Talks between PP and WPT 

After several months of negotiations, the players have accepted the proposal from Premier Padel and will combine playing both Premier Padel and on the World Padel Tour.

All players' contracts expire after this season with the World Padel Tour. And there are now talks between WPT and Premier Padel about whether it will be next season. It is unclear what these talks have led to.
