Disappointing end for the super talent in the final: ”Had to go to the hospital”
Claudia Jensen and Jessica Castello were forced to cancel their first-ever World Padel Tour final.
According to the WPT commentator, the reason was that Jensen visited the hospital yesterday due to dehydration and where forced to stop.
Claudia Jensen made history as the youngest woman to reach the final of an Open on the World Padel Tour yesterday, only 17 years and seven months old. But the final against Alejandra Salazar and Gemma Triay came to a disappointing end.
At the beginning of the second set, Jensen and Jessica Castello were forced to throw in the towel. In the broadcast, it was difficult to see that anyone was injured.
But according to the WPT commentator, Claudia Jensen had to visit the hospital after the semi-final yesterday.
”I´m hearing through my headphones that Claudia Jensen had to go to the hospital because of dehydration. She has been forced to throw in the towel,” said the commentator.
Dominated the match
The final was strongly dominated by Ale Salazar and Gemma Triay, who won the first set easily 6-1 and led 1-0 in the second set.
It was emotional afterward, with Claudia Jensen and Jessica Castello leaving the court in tears. The title is Triay and Salazar's second straight. They also won last weekend's La Rioja Open in Argentina.
